Northcentral Technical College and the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point at Wausau opened a shared Advising + Transfer Center in Wausau, UW-Stevens Point said in an Oct. 28 announcement. The center is a support hub for the colleges’ Purple and Blue Advantage co-location partnership, according to the announcement.
NTC welcomed UWSP at Wausau to its Wausau campus in August 2026, the university said. The partnership is intended to help students complete bachelor’s degrees locally through pathways in areas including biology, health science and wellness, nursing and psychology, according to UW-Stevens Point.
The announcement said nearly 300 students are planning their futures through the partnership. It described the center as a place where the two institutions share space and advising, and said students from both colleges can access academic support and state-of-the-art labs.
NTC said an associate degree can prepare students for careers, while the partnership with UWSP offers pathways for students who want to continue their education and earn a bachelor’s degree, according to the announcement. UWSP Chancellor Bob Brinkmann said the colleges’ combined strengths are intended to support students balancing work, family responsibilities and finances, as well as employers seeking skilled workers in north central Wisconsin.
The announcement did not provide the center’s hours, a contact for the center, or information about fees. It listed UW-Stevens Point at Wausau at 1000 Campus Drive, Wausau, and gave the campus phone number as 715-261-6235.
